WWF Koalas Australia
WWF Koalas Australia delivers essential protection and restoration of their habitats. Extreme tree-clearing for agriculture and urban developments has led to the destruction and fragmentation of koala habitats. Although, with the efforts of landowners, farmers, community groups and organisations, with support from government and corporate organisations, we are now seeing areas of koala habitats being protected and previously cleared areas are being restored to provide future habitat for koalas and other wildlife.
WWF Australia also work on helping koalas in care, the destruction of koala habitats mean that they spend more time on the group moving from tree to tree. This makes them much more vulnerable to being hit by cars, attacked by other wildlife species and dogs, in addition their stress levels in their environment make them more vulnerable to sicknesses. WWF assist sick and injured koalas in their hospital where they are treated and cared for then returned to their natural home.
